The Hebrew Academy Early Childhood Program stresses the individuality and potential of each child. Our main goal is to educate each child to his or her fullest potential and to imbue him/her with a strong sense of self-worth and accomplishment. This in turn will encourage the child to move on to greater challenges. Our program fosters a positive attitude toward learning that teaches children to love and enjoy the learning process. Thus, the classroom environment is one of warm acceptance, and positive reinforcement. Small class size insures that each child’s needs are met and personalized attention is given.

Young children learn best by experience. The more their senses are involved in a learning experience, the greater the amount of learning that takes place. Learning through self-discovery and exploration creates meaningful connections for children. The “process” rather than the “product” is emphasized. Thematic learning is emphasized as well. Whenever possible, educators arrange for all of the learning experiences taking place in a specific time frame to correspond with each other. This integration makes the learning more meaningful and helps to lend an understanding of the world in a clear, exciting way. Learning through active “play” with language expression is our ongoing goal.

Socialization is an important aspect of early childhood growth and development. Children are encouraged to take turns, share, respect each other’s privacy and space, and use language to resolve conflicts.

The Hebrew Academy is concerned with all aspects of a child’s well-being. We focus on the physical, emotional, and intellectual development and well-being of each and every student.
