The Hebrew Academy is gearing up for Simcha (Happiness) in the week leading up to Purim. Students are encouraged to get into the Purim spirit by attending school dressed in the following funny ways:

  • Tomorrow, Friday March 2: Funny Hat Day
  • Monday March 5: Funny Face Day
  • Tuesday March 6: Funny Shirt Day
  • Wednesday March 7: Funny Hair Day

Please ensure shirts are modest. 5th - 8th Grade girls: sleeves must be 3/4 (covering the elbow) or long sleeves and cover collarbones.

School will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2012, due to a public holiday - President's Day and closed on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, as our staff will be attending an In-Service.

School resumes on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 as usual.

Dear Parents:

During the month of February, there are several exciting events happening at The Hebrew Academy.

Thursday, February 16th:

On Thursday, February 16th we will be participating in the Rockland Read-In which promotes reading as a fun activity.  On that day during your child’s Language Arts period, the students will be allowed to read whatever book/magazine they would like – just for the pleasure of reading.  Students are encouraged to bring in pillows, which will  provide an atmosphere that is a lot more casual.

On Tuesday, February 15th, the students will be making bookmarks in school.  This will help to promote excitement for the Read-in.

Tuesday, February 28th:

Beginning at 7:00 p.m., we will be conducting our first Family Math Night.   You and your child/ren will participate in fun math activities.  Various tables will be set up in the Shul at which math games at different skill levels will be arranged.  Entertainment will be provided.  Our wonderful choir will be performing for you. It is a great opportunity for you and your child to have a fun learning experience

Mazal Tov to Rabbi and Mrs. Kotlarsky upon the birth of their granddaughter Tova Rivka. May they have only Yiddishe nachas from her and all of their grandchildren.

Mazal Tov to Rabbi and Mrs. Richler upon the birth of their daughter Tova Rivka. May they raise her to Torah, Chuppah and Maassim Tovim.

Dear Parents,

Our lunch program has, thank G-d, been very successful and the children are really enjoying their nutritious lunches with many choices on the menu.

Our lunch program is provided by Cousins Catering and is under the hashgacha of Rabbi Wosner. All meat meals use David Elliot products and all dairy lunches are Chalav Yisrael. The lunch program runs every school week from Monday through Thursday. Please note that the Friday pizza lunch remains unchanged and is not part of the lunch program.

The cost for Session 2: March 2012 through June 2012 is $207 per child. Full payment is due by March 1, 2012.

Payments are to be made in cash or check. Please return this form to the office by Wednesday, March 1, 2011.

Please Note: Only those who have paid will receive the school lunch.

Mazal Tov to our Dear Morah Rivky, Toddler Morah, and to her husband, on the birth of a baby boy! Mother and son are both well B"H! May this new child be a source of nachas to his parents and family.
