Dear Parents,

Your children are slowly settling in to their new classes. It will take a few days till your child feels totally comfortable but the Preschool Morot are warm and caring and already loving your child. As these links will attest, the children are having a wonderful first day! Please like the pages and share with friends and family.

Dear Abba/Dad/Tatty,

Thank you for participating in the Fathers Day event today - 'Hand in Hand with My Father'. I must say, you were all such sports, getting your hands full of paint without any complaint. If that wasn't enough, you had icing to contend with next!  I hope you continue to enjoy only nachas from your child/ren and thank you for the opportunity to share in their chinuch (education).

I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Please email any suggestions you may have to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so we can make next year's event even better.

Thank you,

Dear Parents,

The theme for the next two weeks in Preschool is Community Helpers.

There are many kinds of people who make up our community and work to make it successful. That's where you, Dear Parents, come in! We have, among our Toddler class, parents working in various fields such as: Chefs, social workers, teachers and others.

Would you be willing to come in for a short time to visit the class and explain/show/discuss with the children your profession and what you do? If you can, please call Mrs. Perline at 845 634 0951 ext. 109.

Thank you so much!

We will soon be resuming our Coffee & Conversation sessions. Coffee & Conversation is a time Preschool parents and administration meet together over coffee and refreshments to discuss different topics relating to parenting and education. Parents are welcome to bring their toddlers too. Sharing experiences and expertise has proven to be invaluable and enjoyable for parents.

Last year we held the sessions on Wednesday mornings for about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. We would like to know which morning of the week best suits you so that we can schedule our first Coffee & Conversation as soon as possible.

Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as to which day of the week is best and which day is second best.

All the best,
Mrs. Perline

We are looking for some items to be donated. If you can help, we can help take it off your hands! The Nursery needs a small bookshelf (not more than 3 feet high) and a little couch good for little bodies to be comfortable on. If anyone has either or both these items to donate, please contact Mrs. Perline at 845 634 0951 ext. 109.

Early Childhood Parents greatly enjoyed sharing Coffee and Conversation with Hebrew Academy Administrators, Rabbi Avremel Kotlarsky, Principal, Mrs. Shternie Perline and Mrs. Patti Vaspol, Directors. Some rave reviews from parents:

I really enjoyed the forum and would look forward to attending again. It was good to hear that so many other parents struggle with bedtime.

I really enjoyed the discussion we had at breakfast.  Parenting difficulties and techniques are an issue for everyone, I think.  I would be very interested in making these meetings a more regular event.  I feel like I got a lot out of the discussion.

It was very appreciated and informative. You learn something new every day :).

Just keep it up.

Thanks!

It was really very nice and I took a lot from it. The only regret I have is that I could not stay longer. I hope that next time we can have it either at night or late Sunday.

Thank you!

I really enjoyed the Coffee and Conversation because it showed me that even though I feel overwhelmed at times, I'm definitely not alone.  I don't have any ideas as to what the next Coffee and Conversation should be about but it was nice to share my parenting trials and tribulations with other people.  It was also nice that Mrs. Perline, Mrs. Vaspol and Rabbi Kotlarsky shared their experiences as well. I can't wait for the next Coffee and Conversation!

Make sure to attend the next Coffee & Conversation on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2011 at 9:30 am in The Hebrew Academy library.

See you there ;)

We now have Class Parents for both Nursery and Pre K. We still do not have a Class Parent for the Toddler class. Please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you can be the Class Parent for the Toddlers.

Thank you in advancd!

Dear Parents:

Get ready! Get set! This week we are learning the letter “I”! Therefore, we are planning a trip to Israel.  A trip that we will never forget!

On Wednesday, December 23, 2010, we will be taking an imaginary trip to Israel.

The children will be visiting and exploring many exciting and wonderful sites. We will be visiting the Kotel and other holy sites. The children will become familiarized with what a typical marketplace looks like, exposed to a different culture, and taste some Israeli food.

In order to make our trip more realistic, we need pictures, souvenirs and/or mementos. If you have any of these items that you would be willing to share with us, we would truly appreciate it. They would make our trip more memorable.

We are all looking forward to this very exciting and unforgettable trip!

Sincerely,
Morah Rivka

Dear Parents:

This week we will be learning about the letter "H". We will be learning all about our House and what makes a House a Home.

Please send in some pictures of family members, so that we can put them in our House. This will provide the students with a social/emotional connection between Home and the school and help them feel/realize this connection throughout the day.

Kindly send in snack and drinks for this month.

Sincerely,
Morah Rivka

Mazal Tov to our very dear teacher, Morah Emmie Mase, Assistant Morah to Nursery, on her engagement to Yitzi Rosenblum.

May the new couple build a Bayit Ne'eman b'Yisrael upon the foundations of our Holy Torah and its Mitzvot.

Mazal Tov!
