Lunch Program Updates - Ordering Deadline

Dear Parents, The lunch program is working well and the students are enjoying the varied and tasty menu. Since the program began, due to its popularity, we have received requests from more students to join the program. If you wish to order the school lunch for your child the charge will be $157 per child for the remainder of Session 1 (ending February 29, 2012) provided you pay by Monday, December 12, 2011. We will be making absolutely no more amendments to the lunch program beyond this date. Should you wish to order the lunch program after this date the price will be $157 per child till the end of February 20th 2012

Looking for Class Parents

Dear Parents, We need your support! Would you like to help out? We are looking for class parents. The Class Parents' time and effort are greatly appreciated by the children, teachers and other parents, and improves the school community for all. The role of Class Parent does not extend to issues relating to teaching or issues with individual students. Parents should talk to teachers individually regarding their own child. Class parent responsibilities: Each class has at least one (1) parent. A Class Parent serves as a liaison between the classroom teachers and the parents; every Class Parent should be cognizant of their responsibility toward the other parents, the teachers, and the school. Lunch Program 2011

Dear Parents, The long awaited information regarding the lunch program is finally here! Please see attached regarding the lunch program. The sample menu is not attached to the email. For the sample menu please see the paper note sent home with your child (sent home with students in Kindergarten-8th Grades). If you still wish to have another copy of the sample menu, please contact the office. After reading the information attached, please indicate your interest by replying to this email or by returning the paper note to school. All responses are due by Monday, November 14, 2011. Please let us know how many children you will be needing the lunch program for.

Update regarding food brought in to school

Please see the below for Kosher Information. The following is a list of recommended Kosher Supervisory Agencies, whose products generally are acceptable for class celebrations, snacks, lunch etc. Today there are well over 100 Kashrut symbols that identify the Kosher Supervisory Agency that supervises the product. To keep things simple, we have limited the list to the following main companies: The O-U The O-K The Chof-K The Star-K The KAJ Please note that for celebrations in school, we use only milk products that are Chalav Yisrael. Unless clearly marked as Chalav Yisrael, products under the supervision of the O-U, O-K, Chof-K, and Star-K usually are not Chalav Yisrael. Beware when there is a letter ‘D’ beside the kosher symbol – it is only permissible for school if it is also stated ‘Cholov Yisroel’.
