New date for Picture Day

Due to the storm, Picture Day has been rescheduled for Monday, November 21, 2011 for all grades Toddler - 8th Grades. For Kindergarten - 8th Grade students ONLY: Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately in the school uniform with a clean white shirt and navy blue pants or skirt.

School Will be Open Tomorrow 2/11/11

Dear Parents, Thank G-d, our power and heating has been fully restored and school WILL BE OPEN TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND, 2011, for all grades, Toddler through 8th Grades. If East Ramapo Central School District is closed and does not provide transportation, we will still be open, and parents shall make their own arrangements for transportation to and from school.

School Days Reminder

School is closed tomorrow Friday, October 7, 2011, for Yom Kippur. School is closed on Monday, October 10, 2011, due to the public holiday, Colombus Day. Our staff will be attending an in-service that day. School will be in session on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. School will be closed from Wednesday, October 12, 2011 for the Succos breadk and will resume on Monday, October 24, 2011. Gmar chatima tova - may you and yours be sealed for a good and sweet year!

Pre K Trip tomorrow

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 6th, our Pre K class will be going to the Pet Palace to learn some interesting facts about fish, because we are studying the letter "F". Transportation will be provided. However, please make sure that you provide a car seat/booster for your child. Please complete the bottom of this notice, giving the school permission for your child to attend this outing, and return it to the office by tomorrow. Thank you.Morah Rivka
We would like to clarify the procedure in case a student doesn't meet certain school expectations: Students are expected to honor the dress code, be punctual to school and behave appropriately at recess time. After three occurences of infraction in each of these three areas a detention will be administered.. A detention would occur from 4:25 - 5:10 pm for K - 4th Grades and 5:00 - 5:45 pm for 5th - 8th Grades Monday - Thursday

Lunches and Snacks

Please send a substantial lunch and two full healthy snacks with your child each day. Some students are bringing in lunches that are not substantial such as a yogurt or french fries for lunch, for example, which is hardly substantial enough for a student to subsist on for the remainder of his/her school day; nor is a packet of chips or soda, and other foods high in sugar, healthy enough for lunch. Students' lunches should consist of a sandwich with bread and each class recites Birkat Hamazon, Grace after Meals, after lunchtime. If you do send any liquid, loose foods or sauces together with the regular lunch sandwich, please make sure it is properly contained in a leak proof container. Kaparos and Lulav Esrog ordes

As a service to our parents and their families we are offering you the opportunity to partake in the ancient tradition of 'kaparos'. Please read the attached for more information. Also attached is an order form to enable you to purchase a Lulav and Esrog for Succos. Please see the attached form. Being that kaparos is being held tomorrow night, all orders are due by tomorrow, Tuesday, October 4, 2011, by 11 am by email or fax, or return the order form with your child when he/she comes to school in the morning. Homework Policy Contract

Dear Parents: Homework is a reinforcement and extension of daily lessons. As such, it must be completed when assigned. Missed assignments will have an adverse affect on overall grades. Homework constitutes 10% of the overall grade in each subject area. Consequences for missed homework assignments are as follows: Student loses his/her recess privileges for the day A homework slip is given 3. Three homework slips received in the course of one month will result in after-school detention which will be held on Mondays. Students attending detention are to be picked up by parents by 5:10 p.m. (1st – 4th Grade), by 5:45 p.m. (5th – 8th Grade). Students attending detention will not be permitted to use the school bus; parents are required to pick up their child.
